The Patagonia Atom Sling 8L is the pack for the days that do not fit a single plan. On a bike, in boots on the trail, or catching the bus, it holds enough to keep you prepared without the bulk of a full backpack, and it carries comfortably enough that you forget it is there.

The key is the asymmetrical harness, which pulls the load in close to your body so the weight rides with you instead of swinging loose. A zippered stash pocket on the strap keeps your most-grabbed items within reach, and a zippered front pocket gives a phone or a set of keys a dedicated home. The zippered main compartment has an internal divider, so the 8 liters of space stays organized rather than turning into a single jumbled pocket. The Atom Sling is built almost entirely from recycled materials. The 400-denier body fabric is 100% postconsumer recycled polyester ripstop with a PU coating and a durable water repellent finish made without intentionally added PFAS, so light moisture beads off rather than soaking in. All fabrics, spacer mesh, and static mesh are 100% recycled, the webbing is 100% recycled nylon, and the fabrics are bluesign approved. It is sewn in a Fair Trade Certified factory, which means the people who made it earned a premium for their work.
