Trip Details: Uncompahgre River Float

• Raft and Fishing Setup:
  Fish directly from the raft as you float along the Uncompahgre River, with stops at prime locations for walk-and-wade fishing. This combination offers a dynamic and engaging experience for anglers.
• Guided Experience:
  Your professional guide will provide expert advice, handle navigation, and ensure you make the most of your time on the water. This trip is best suited for those with some fly-fishing experience.
• Fishing Style:
  Focused on catching Rainbow and Brown trout using fly fishing techniques. This is a Catch & Release fishery, emphasizing sustainable practices to preserve the river’s fish population.
• Duration:
  This is a 4–6 hour trip, offering plenty of time to explore the river, enjoy the scenery, and fish at key locations.
• Meeting Point:
  Trips start at Ed’s Fly Shop in Montrose, unless other arrangements are made in advance. Your guide will contact you prior to the trip to confirm details and answer any questions.
• Gear Options:
  We recommend bringing your own rod, reel, waders, and boots. However, if needed, we offer rentals for rods, reels, waders, and boots to ensure you’re fully prepared for your trip. Let us know in advance if you’d like to rent gear so we can have it ready for you.
