San Miguel River Fishing Report
Updated July 3, 2026
Current flows: San Miguel near Placerville 90 cfs
San Miguel River Conditions
The San Miguel is coming into better shape as runoff drops. Flows are still moving enough water that anglers should focus on softer edges, inside bends, banks, and slower pockets. Bigger attractor dries, dry-dropper rigs, stonefly nymphs, caddis, and small streamers are all worth fishing.
Fly selection: Chubbies #8-12, stimulators #10-14, caddis dries #14-16, Pat's Rubber Legs #10-12, pheasant tails #14-18, perdigons #14-18, caddis nymphs #12-16, and small streamers.
Recommended gear: 8' 3wt or 4wt rod.
