Your old rod still has value.
Trade it in for store credit toward a new one. Send us a few photos, we will get back to you with a quote, and you put that credit toward the rod you have been wanting.
How It Works
Four steps to a new rod
Send us photos
Fill out the form below, then email a few photos of your rod, the tube, and the label near the grip.
Get your quote
We look it over and call or email you with a store credit quote, usually within one business day.
Drop it off or ship it
Bring it by the shop on Main Street in Montrose, or we will send you instructions to ship it to us.
Use your credit
Once we inspect and cast it, the credit goes on your Ed's Fly Shop account, ready for your new rod.

Quality fly rods from brands we know and trust
We take in rods we can stand behind when they go back out the door. That usually means rods from makers like these:

- Winston
- G. Loomis
- Douglas
- Orvis Helios
- Thomas & Thomas
- Have another? Ask us.
Rods only for now. All sections need to be there, and the original tube helps your quote.
Condition Guide
How we grade your rod
Excellent
Lightly fished. Clean cork, straight guides, no chips or scratches in the finish. Comes with the tube and sock.
Good
Fished and cared for. Some wear on the cork and light cosmetic marks, but everything fits tight and casts true.
Fair
Well used. Worn cork, visible scratches or a missing tube, but no structural damage.
We cannot take rods with broken or cracked sections, damaged ferrules, or missing pieces.

Do I get cash or store credit?
Store credit on your Ed's Fly Shop account. You can use it in the shop or online.
What can I use the credit on?
Trade-in credit goes toward a new fly rod, in the shop or online.
How long is my quote good for?
Your quote is good for 14 days. After that we are happy to take another look.
What if the rod does not match the photos?
We will call you with an updated quote. If it does not work for you, we will return the rod.
Can I trade in reels?
Not yet. We are starting with rods. Give us a call if you have a reel you want to talk about.
