The Taggedout is a hunting folder that has quietly become a favourite EDC. 3.48" clip-point blade, carbon fibre scales, 2.44 ounces — which is extraordinary for a knife with this much blade.
The weight comes from carbon fibre handles and skeletonised liners. The performance comes from CPM-MagnaCut, the most corrosion-resistant steel in Benchmade's range, paired with their SelectEdge 14-degree-per-side factory grind.
That combination is the point. A fine edge on a hunting knife means less force on hide and more control; MagnaCut means it does not matter that the knife spent a wet October in a pack. It is also, not incidentally, the right answer for a knife that lives in a boat.
The trade with SelectEdge is that a thinner edge is more prone to chipping if you pry or hit bone. Cut with it.
