The Mini Crooked River takes the big Western-styled folder and shrinks it to something you would actually carry every day — a 3.4" blade instead of 4", on a 7.89" frame.
The clip-point blade is the traditional hunting shape: a long, sweeping belly for skinning and a fine tip for detail work. It is a better field-dressing blade than a drop-point and a worse prying tool, which is the right trade for what this knife is for.
Choosing your Mini Crooked River
The two versions are genuinely different knives, not colour options.
The stabilized wood build is the classic — dark brown wood scales, brass liners, CPM-S30V blade. It looks like a knife your grandfather would have carried, and it is the one people buy as a gift.
The Burnt Copper and black micarta build is the modern take: CPM-MagnaCut, aluminum and canvas micarta, and Benchmade's SelectEdge — a 14-degree-per-side factory grind, noticeably finer than their standard. It comes in nearly three quarters of an ounce lighter, and MagnaCut resists corrosion better than S30V, which matters if it rides in a pack.
