Korkers
Collection Description
There is one thing every angler around here learns sooner or later: the bottom of one river is nothing like the bottom of the next. The slick basalt at Pleasure Park, the cobble flats of the Lower Gunnison, the algae-coated boulders below Crystal Dam, the loose gravel of the San Miguel. The right sole for one stretch is the wrong sole for another, and nobody wants to own four pairs of wading boots to cover the variation.
Korkers solved that problem with the OmniTrax Interchangeable Sole System. One boot, multiple soles, swap in the parking lot in under a minute. Felt for the slimy stuff. Kling-On rubber for hiking in. Vibram for the rocky rivers. Aluminum hex discs when the boulders are washing-machine slick and you are trying not to get baptized. The boots are good. The system around the boots is what makes Korkers genuinely different.
We carry the full lineup. The River Ops is the flagship, a tactical-inspired guide boot with Exo-Tec molded armor and a BOA Fit System option for micro-adjustable lacing. The Devil's Canyon is the lighter, more athletic version with the same interchangeable sole platform. The Terror Ridge and Buckskin are workhorses that have earned their keep on guide trucks all over the Western Slope. The Bantam Lite is the entry point into the Korkers system, with the same OmniTrax sole compatibility at a friendlier price for anglers who fish hard but not every day.
We also stock replacement soles, sole kits like the Triple Threat Aluminum Hex Discs, wet-wade neoprene guard socks for summer, and replacement laces when you need them. Buy a boot from us and we will help you pick the right soles for the water you actually fish, not the water in the catalog photos.
Stop by Ed's Fly Shop on Main Street in Montrose to try them on, swap a sole on the bench so you can see how it works, and walk out with the right setup for tomorrow morning. If you have questions about which boot or which sole, give us a call at 970-964-9991.
