Why the Ergo line is worth the money. The handles are the point. Loon moved the finger loops and added the Precision Peg so your hand sits square to the work instead of cocked at an angle. If you tie in volume — a guide filling boxes in February, or anyone who has ever done fifty of the same nymph in a sitting — that is the difference between finishing the session and putting it down.
UV resin. Clear Fly Finish is the one most people know Loon for, and the Plasma Light is what cures it properly. Thin for coating, Flow for building, Thick for heads. A cheap light and a good resin is a bad trade — the cure is where it goes wrong.
Ice Off Paste is a Colorado staple. Rub it on your guides before a cold morning on the Gunnison and you stop stripping ice out of the tip every four casts.
