The Challenger is Simms's everyday fishing shirt — a light heathered polyester with the details that separate a fishing shirt from a shirt you happen to fish in. It is the highest-traffic apparel page on our site, and it earns that.

The hidden zip pocket is the detail worth knowing about. It sits behind the main chest pocket and it is where your license and your truck key go — the two things you genuinely cannot afford to lose out of an open pocket when you bend over to release a fish. Most people who own this shirt do not discover it for a season.
The sunglass chamois is sewn in, so you stop wiping your lenses on a dirty shirttail. Small thing, used constantly.
Sun protection: Simms does not publish a UPF rating for the Challenger. We would rather tell you that than assume. If a rated sun shirt is what you are after, the SolarFlex Hoody is UPF 50+ and the Big Sky shirts are UPF 50+ with a vented back. All stocked here.
