This is the cold-weather Highline — a waffle-knit layer for late fall and winter, not a sun hoody. At 350 gsm it is one of the heavier knits Simms makes, with a smooth back that moves against skin and thumb holes to keep your wrists covered on the oars.

Do not confuse this with a SolarFlex. People land here looking for a summer sun hoody and this is the opposite garment. The Highline has no UPF rating published by Simms and at 350 gsm it is far too warm for a July float. If you want sun protection, the SolarFlex Hoody or BugStopper SolarFlex Hoody are what you are after — both stocked here.
Where this one earns its keep: October through March on the Gunnison, under a wading jacket, or on its own around the shop and the truck. The thumb holes matter more than they sound like they do when your hands are wet at 8am.
Sizing: Simms does not publish a fit descriptor for this piece. The hood is described as fitted, and a 350 gsm knit does not have much give, so if you plan to layer underneath give us a call at 970-964-9991 before you pick a size.
Warranty: Simms covers functional defects with a replacement. Within the first year, repairs are on them. Beyond a year they will repair it or make it right.
