The Flyweight Access sits between a wet-wading shoe and a full wading boot — more support and protection than a sneaker, far less weight than a guide boot. Simms rates the Access version 5 out of 5 for rubber traction, the top of their entire freshwater range.
What it is for: summer wet wading where you still want a real boot underfoot, hike-in fishing, and anglers who want one pair of footwear that handles the walk and the water without a wader bootie involved.
Features
- Lightweight synthetic upper that drains and dries quickly
- Top-rated rubber outsole — Simms scores this platform highest in their line for traction
- Supportive midsole built for walking
- Corrosion-resistant hardware
- Width D — narrower than the EEE guide boots

Two things to know
- The width is D, not the EEE of the G3 Guide, Freestone, and Tributary. Wide feet will notice. This is the most common surprise with the Flyweight family.
- Simms appears to be winding this model down — it is showing on clearance upstream. If it fits you and you want a pair, this is the time. Call us and we will tell you what sizes are still gettable.
Sizing: if you are wearing these over wader booties, Simms's rule is one full size up from your street shoe, half sizes rounding up. If you are wet wading in a thin neoprene sock, that rule overshoots. Which way you go depends entirely on how you intend to use them — call 970-964-9991 and we will work it out with you instead of guessing.
Related: the Flyweight Access Wet Wading Shoe is the lighter, lower version, and the Flyweight Boot in Vibram or felt is the full wading boot. All stocked here.
Warranty: defects in workmanship and materials covered; wear damage repaired for a reasonable fee. Simms's 60-day and one-year terms apply to waders only.
