Abel's Native series translates real trout coloring into hand-anodized finishes, and the Native Rainbow Vaya nails the pink-and-silver flash of a wild rainbow. This 5/6 pairs that finish with a warm rosewood handle - an all-around trout reel that looks the part of the fish it was made for.
Beneath the finish is the same Colorado-built Vaya platform: a partially-ported, large-arbor frame with a sealed carbon-and-stainless drag. It is smooth enough to protect fine tippet and strong enough to hold a good rainbow out of the current on a 5- or 6-weight.
