Carbon fibre handles bring it to 2.18 ounces, over half an ounce lighter than the aluminum versions, and the weave means no two are quite the same. The blade is Bohler M390, a stainless powder steel that has been the benchmark for edge retention in premium folders for a decade. Stainless, so it does not need the babying the M4 Bailouts do, with a satin finish rather than a coating.
The tanto grind is the reason people buy a Bailout in the first place — mass behind the point, so it takes piercing and prying work that a thin drop-point would not survive. The AXIS lock is fully ambidextrous and closes one-handed.
At $400 it is $50 over the aluminum versions. What that buys is the lighter frame, the nicer material, and a steel you never have to think about.
