This is the boot that lives by the back door. Grundens built the Deck-Boss for people who work on boats, and it turns out that is exactly what a fly shop, a drift boat, a muddy launch, and a wet spring morning all ask for too.

100% waterproof, ankle height, pull-on. No laces to soak, nothing to tie with cold hands. Step in and go.

1926 Anchor is marked down 25% to clear — Grundens has retired that colorway, so what is on the selector is the last of it. Blackbeard and Zero Shucks are current and stay at regular price.

Specifications

Waterproofing 100% waterproof
Height Ankle — low enough to drive in, high enough for a wet launch
Outsole Non-marking lugged rubber with razor-cut siping — sheds mud while gripping a wet deck
Midsole Compression-molded EVA for shock absorption and all-day cushioning
Lining HeiQ Pure anti-odor; HeiQ SmartTemp thermo-regulating
Closure Pull-on — no laces

Siping is the detail worth understanding. Those razor cuts across the outsole open as the sole flexes, letting water and mud squeeze out from under the tread instead of sitting there as a lubricant. It is why a deck boot grips a wet aluminum floor when a hiking sole just skates. Same reason snow tires are siped.

Non-marking matters if you are ever in someone else's boat. Black-soled boots leave scuff marks across a deck and guides notice.

Who buys these around here: guides, anyone who launches a boat, and a lot of people who just want a waterproof boot for mud season in Montrose. They are not wading boots — no felt, no studs, no drainage — but for everything either side of the fishing they are hard to beat.

Also stocked: the women's Deck-Boss in Silt and Cherry, plus a Maritime colorway on its own listing. If you want the taller, more cushioned version, look at the Deviation 6 Inch Ankle Boot.

Care: wipe with a damp cloth, clean with cold fresh water only — no solvents. Pull the insoles out and let them air dry away from direct sun or a heater. Rubber degrades faster from heat than from use.
