Machined in Montrose, Colorado — a mile from our shop. Bar stock in one door, anodized finished reel out the other, all on the banks of the Uncompahgre.
The Evolution R Salt is the Evolution R turned all the way up. Where the R runs a seven-disc sealed stack, the Salt runs sixteen sealed discs of stainless steel and carbon fluoropolymer producing nearly 30 pounds of drag pressure. Internals are machined stainless with a special saltwater coating, the frame and spool are reinforced, and the spool carries an industry-first pair of dual mini counterbalances — so it stays dead smooth when a fish is 200 yards into your backing and the reel is spinning faster than you can think.
