The Freestone with a front zipper — Simms's most affordable route into zip-front wading. Same 4-layer Toray QuadraLam shell top and bottom as the standard Freestone, built for years of abuse, with a TIZIP waterproof center-front zip added.

Why a zip is worth it: layering underneath becomes easy, getting in and out is faster, and streamside relief stops being an ordeal. Anglers who fish cold mornings or all-day floats tend to buy one zip-front wader and never go back.

Features

  • 4-layer Toray QuadraLam, same fabric upper and lower
  • TIZIP waterproof center-front zipper
  • Dual side-access zippered stretch-woven chest pockets — easier to reach than the standard Freestone's top-access pocket
  • Dual fleece-lined handwarmer pockets
  • Dual rear belt loops; 38mm stretch elastic belt included
  • Weight: 44.9 oz (1,272 g) in Medium — about 3 oz over the non-zip Freestone

Current pricing is on the selector above.

Zip systems are not all the same. This uses a TIZIP; Simms's flagship G4Z uses a YKK AQUASEAL zip installed with stitchless construction, in a full GORE-TEX Pro shell, built in Bozeman. Both are genuinely waterproof — the G4Z is the more refined system in a more capable wader, and we stock it if you want to compare them side by side.

Sizing — how Simms does it

  • The bootie size is baked into the wader size: “L 12-13” is a large with a 12–13 bootie
  • King adds roughly two inches of girth, not length
  • Inseam is chosen separately: Short, Regular, or Long

Size from your largest girth — chest, waist, or hips — then inseam, then bootie.

Get measured in the shop. Call 970-964-9991 or stop in. Three measurements, five minutes, and we will order in the exact size rather than have you gamble on a return.

Warranty: 60 days no questions asked on leaks, free repairs through the first year, then a flat fee covering evaluation, repair, testing, and return shipping. Roughly three weeks turnaround. Bring them to us and we will start the claim.
