No laces. That is the whole idea. The Zipit is a vulcanized rubber and neoprene flats bootie with a corrosion-resistant YKK zipper up the side — on and off in seconds, worn barefoot or over a light liner sock, and there is nothing for coral or grass to snag.

At 40 oz (1,134 g) per pair it is the lightest thing in the Simms footwear line alongside the Flats Sneaker.

Construction

  • Vulcanized rubber and neoprene hybrid — no leather, no mesh, nothing to rot
  • YKK corrosion-resistant zipper closure
  • Non-marking outsole — skiff-deck friendly
  • Width C, sizes 7–14

Two limits worth knowing up front

  • Not stud-compatible. If you need studs, the FreeSalt is the only Simms salt boot that takes them.
  • Not designed for waders. This is a barefoot or thin-sock bootie. If you might wear boots over waders on a cold-weather striper or redfish trip, the FreeSalt is the one — also stocked here.

Width C is narrow. Narrower than the Flats Sneaker at D, and much narrower than the EEE guide boots. If you have a wide foot, try before you buy.

Zipit or Flats Sneaker? Both are light, saltwater-only, non-studdable, and rate 4 out of 5 on traction. The Zipit zips on with no laces at all and is the narrower of the two; the Flats Sneaker has a more conventional sneaker fit and a slightly wider D last. Preference, not performance.

Sizing: Simms's general advice to size up a full size assumes you are clearing a wader bootie. This boot is worn barefoot or with a thin sock, so that advice does not apply cleanly. Call 970-964-9991 and we will sort the size with you rather than have you guess — this is one where the standard rule misleads people.

Rinse it. Fresh water after every day in salt, every time.

Warranty: defects in workmanship and materials covered; wear damage repaired for a reasonable fee. Simms's 60-day and one-year wader terms do not apply to footwear.
