A saltwater flats shoe that wears like a sneaker. Neoprene-lined, non-corrosive throughout, with a molded rubber toe and heel cap and Simms's rugged puncture resistance underfoot — which is the point when you are walking coral, oyster, and shell all day.

Construction

  • Non-corrosive saltwater-friendly materials with molded rubber toe and heel cap
  • Neoprene liner; sneaker-like fit
  • Non-marking gum rubber outsole — skiff-deck safe
  • Puncture-resistant construction
  • Width D, sizes 7–14

Current pricing is on the selector above.

Two limits to know

  • Not stud-compatible. The FreeSalt is the only Simms salt boot that takes studs.
  • Not built for waders. Worn barefoot or with a light sock. For a cold-water salt trip in waders, take the FreeSalt — also on our site.

Choosing between the three salt models

Boot Traction Ankle support Width Studs Over waders
Flats Sneaker 4 / 5 3 / 5 D No No
Zipit Bootie 4 / 5 3 / 5 C No No
FreeSalt 4 / 5 4 / 5 EEE Yes Yes

The Flats Sneaker is the middle ground: a normal-feeling shoe with laces and a D width, roomier than the Zipit's narrow C. Step to the FreeSalt if you want ankle support, studs, or wader compatibility.

Sizing: Simms's standard “size up a full size” advice assumes you are fitting over a wader bootie. This shoe is worn barefoot or with a thin sock, so that rule does not apply. Call 970-964-9991 and we will get it right — people routinely order these a size too big by following the general chart.

Heading somewhere warm? Call us before you go. We will sort footwear, sun protection, and lines, and make sure nothing gets discovered missing at the lodge. Rinse everything in fresh water at the end of each day.

Warranty: defects in workmanship and materials covered; wear damage repaired for a reasonable fee. The 60-day and one-year terms are waders only.
