The lightest boot Simms makes, in felt. Same Flyweight platform built for anglers who walk to their water — TPU-based synthetic woven upper, molded rubber toe wrap, high-cushion dual-density EVA midsole — with a Simms 10mm felt outsole underneath.
It is also the only freshwater boot where Simms specifically calls out drain holes, which tells you the design priority: shed water fast so you are not carrying the river up the trail.

Read this: the width is different. The Flyweight is a D width. Every Simms guide boot — G3, Freestone, Tributary — is EEE. That is a real difference and the most common surprise with this boot. Wide feet or thick wader booties may find it tight; normal-to-narrow feet will find it far more comfortable than a guide boot.
Felt on a hiking boot — think this one through. Felt gives you the best grip on slick rock, but it stays wet and holds mud for days, which makes it the best-known carrier of whirling disease spores and didymo between drainages. A boot designed for covering ground is, by definition, a boot that travels — so the biosecurity risk is higher here than on a boot that lives on one river.
If you hike into multiple drainages, the Vibram version of this same boot is the better choice and rates identically for traction in Simms's own scoring. If you hike into one home river, felt is fine — just scrub, rinse, and dry the boots completely between trips.
