Simms and the Grateful Dead, on a corduroy rope cap. Six-panel corduroy crown, rope detail across the brim, adjustable back — the retro shape that has come all the way back around.

Why corduroy works on the water better than it sounds. It is warmer than a mesh trucker, which matters more than people expect on a cold morning float or a fall evening when the sun drops behind the canyon wall. It is also the cap that does not look out of place at the brewery afterward.
Limited run. The Simms x Grateful Dead pieces are seasonal collaborations — when a colorway sells through, it is generally gone rather than restocked. Worth knowing if you have been thinking about it.
Also in the Grateful Dead collection here: the SolarTech Hoody, the short-sleeve tee, and the Single Haul Cap in Dead colorways. We usually have a few pieces of it on the wall.
Prefer mesh? The standard Single Haul Cap comes in seven colors and is the everyday choice for hot weather. The plain Double Haul Corduroy Rope Cap is the same shape as this one without the Dead artwork. Both on our site.
A word on caps and sun: any cap shades your face and little else. Your ears and the back of your neck take the worst of it out there. Pair it with a SunGaiter if you are out all day.
