Simms calls the Tributary the best value in wading, and in the women's cut it is the wader we hand people buying their first pair. Light, breathable, genuinely waterproof, and priced so that trying this sport does not require a big commitment.
A detail worth knowing: the Tributary is the only wader in the whole Simms line made without PFAS chemicals — every other model, right up to the flagship, is made with them. The entry-level wader is the one that gets that right.
Construction: 3-layer waterproof breathable polyester upper over a 4-layer polyester lower. Simms does not name a fabric brand here the way they do further up the line, and we would rather tell you that than dress it up.

Women's Simms sizing — the vocabulary
- “Full” means extra girth (the women's equivalent of “King”), not extra length
- “Tall” is the long inseam
- The bootie size is part of the wader size — women's booties run 6-7, 8-9, 9-10
- Height guide: Short about 5'1"–5'3", Regular about 5'4"–5'7", Tall about 5'7"–5'9"
