The Darkhorse is Korkers' boot for anglers who put in a lot of miles — a BOA M4 dial, a hydrophobic abrasion-resistant upper in tonal camo, a molded TPU toe cap, and 3PFS Achilles stabilization for support on long walks over bad footing.
This package ships with Kling-On sticky rubber and felt soles — two complete outsoles in the box.
Why two soles matter here. Felt is the best grip there is on slick, algae-covered rock. It is also the best-known carrier of whirling disease spores and didymo between drainages, because it holds water and mud for days. Korkers is the only brand that lets you have it both ways: fish felt on your home river, then clip on the Kling-On rubber before you drive to the next drainage. It takes about a minute and no tools — toe clips in, heel strap secured, step down and gravity seats it.

Where it sits: the Darkhorse is Korkers' upper-mid boot, just below the River Ops flagship. Against the Devil's Canyon, which sits at a similar level, the Darkhorse has more ankle support and Achilles stabilization while the Devil's Canyon is two ounces lighter with a stretch cuff and a more athletic feel. Both stocked — worth trying on together. If you want the toughest build and a two-year warranty, the River Ops is the step up.
Warranty: Korkers' Rock Solid Guarantee covers defects for a minimum of one year, and OmniTrax soles are covered as well. Rust and corrosion damage, particularly from saltwater, is excluded. Korkers publishes no country of manufacture, so we will not claim one.
Sizing: whole sizes only, and wading boots go over your wader booties — plan on about a full size above your street shoe. Spare OmniTrax soles are unisex and sized to the boot. Bring your waders in and try them on over the top; call 970-964-9991 and we will have sizes ready.
