Orvis Mirage Fly Reel — Built to Battle Big Fish and Laugh at Saltwater

The Orvis Mirage is a technologically superior fly reel, conceived and designed from the ground up and built in New England by American craftsmen. It is made to battle angry fish and laugh in the face of corrosive saltwater environments, the reel you reach for when the fish are strong and the conditions are unforgiving.

At its core is a sealed, maintenance-free carbon and stainless steel disc drag with an aggressive knurled knob that goes from zero to full drag in a single rotation. A patent-pending ball and ramp drag mechanism gives the drag a smooth, non-linear curve, so adjustments are finer and more controllable right in the fishing and fish-fighting range. The super large arbor increases retrieve rates and reduces line coil.

The build is uncompromising. The Mirage is machined in the USA from strong, lightweight 6061 T6 aluminum barstock, with a titanium shaft that adds strength without weight and military-spec Type III hard coat anodizing to stand up to salt and abuse. It is finished with an ergonomic machined aluminum handle, a quick-release spool that converts left- to right-hand retrieve, a fully radiused reel foot that prevents kinked leaders, and a low-profile counterweight that will not catch fingers or fly lines.
