This Vaya belongs to Abel's Abstract Series, where the classic Brown finish is reworked as loose, hand-painted art - each reel finished by hand in Abel's shop. Matched with an Abstract Brown drag knob and a warm walnut handle, this 4/5 is a light trout reel with real character.

Under the paint sits the Colorado-built Vaya: a partially-ported, large-arbor frame with a sealed carbon-and-stainless drag. Light in hand and smooth under load, it has the fine adjustability a four- or five-weight needs when the tippet gets thin.
