The LRS is Douglas's value line — a graphite rod built with dura-resins for durability rather than outright lightness. It is the rod for a truck, a raft, a guest, or a first-timer, at a price you are not sick about if it gets stepped on.
Deep blue blank, carbon fiber reel seat insert, and the same Douglas limited lifetime warranty as their flagship rods.

Picking one
- First fly rod? The 9' 5 weight. It is the standard starter size for a reason and this is an honest version of it.
- Backup or loaner rod? Same 5 weight, or the 8'8" 4 weight if your water is small.
- Trying euro nymphing on a budget? The 10' 3 weight lets you find out whether you like it without a big outlay.
- Salt or salmon on a budget? The 8 and 9 weights handle real fish. They are heavier than a Sky G, but they will not let you down.

Warranty: Douglas limited lifetime to the original owner with proof of purchase. Note that warranty claims on four-piece LRS rods have to be phoned in rather than filed online — call us and we will walk you through it.
Douglas does not publish rod weights in ounces for the four-piece LRS models. If that matters to your decision, call and we will put one on a scale.
