The Sky G is Douglas's flagship and one of the genuinely light rods on the market — the 8'6" 4 weight comes in at 2.40 oz. Graphene platelets in the blank let them cut wall thickness without losing recovery speed, which is how you get a rod this light that still holds up in wind.

We stock the complete Sky G lineup, all fifteen models, from a 10-foot 2 weight euro nymph rod to a 12 weight.

Picking one

  • One trout rod? The 9' 5 weight at 2.69 oz. Light enough to fish dries all evening, enough backbone for an indicator rig.
  • Euro nymphing? The 10' 3 weight is the standard answer. Go 2 weight for small technical water, 4 weight if you fish heavy rigs or bigger rivers.
  • Note the 6 weight split: the 6904 is a freshwater rod; the S6904 is the saltwater version — heavier at 3.30 oz, with a fighting butt and a solid aluminum seat. Make sure you pick the right one.
  • Travelling? The 5906 breaks into six pieces and fits a carry-on, at a 0.11 oz penalty over the four-piece.

Components

  • Blank: multi-modulus with G-Tec graphene platelets, G-Armour coating, glare-resistant platinum finish
  • Stripping guides: REC titanium Cerecoil with zirconia inserts
  • Snake guides: REC titanium Recoil — they flex and spring back rather than taking a set
  • Reel seat: skeletonized aluminum, double uplocking rings, burled blackwood insert; saltwater models use a solid one-piece aluminum seat
  • Grip: AAAA flor grade cork
  • Details: section alignment dots marked with line weight
  • Included: powder-coated aluminum tube and moisture-wicking sock

Warranty: Douglas limited lifetime to the original owner with proof of purchase, plus a separate no-fault program for accidental breakage. Register the rod when you get it — free repair depends on it.
