The Rush Light is the Torque's working sibling — same drag, same 6061-T6 bar stock, same Sonora, California machine shop, at a lower price. Galvan got there by simplifying the frame to an open-back tri-spoke and reducing the hand-finishing, not by cheapening the internals.
The trade is weight: a Rush Light runs about 0.3 to 0.6 oz heavier than the Torque in the same size. That is the honest difference.

Where the Rush Light sits
Same drag system as the Torque — the carbon and Ertalyte TX compression stack, microTune knob, same lifetime warranty, same Sonora machining. You are not buying a lesser mechanism.
What the Torque adds for the extra money is a fully ported closed frame, more hand-finishing, and a few tenths of an ounce saved. On a light trout rod that weight difference is noticeable in hand; on an 8 weight it matters less. If you are building a balanced setup around a premium rod, cast both on the rod before deciding — we stock the full range of each.
