Redington Crosswater IV Fly Reel, Pre-Spooled and Ready to Fish
Rigged and ready, straight out of the box. The pre-spooled Crosswater IV takes all the guesswork out of setting up a reel. Each one ships loaded with RIO Mainstream fly line and dacron backing, properly wound and ready to mount on your rod. For a first fly fishing setup or a fast, no-fuss spare, this is the easiest way to get on the water.
The Carbon Disc Drag
The Crosswater IV features a newly upgraded, fully carbon disc-drag system that delivers reliable fish-stopping performance and a smoother startup. A large-notched drag knob makes adjustment quick and easy in the heat of the fight, so you can apply the right pressure exactly when you need it. Whether a trout is making a run or a redfish is pulling for cover, the Crosswater IV brings the brakes.
Lightweight, Durable Construction
The Crosswater IV frame and spool are constructed from durable composite material that prioritizes a lightweight design. Less weight means less casting fatigue over a long day, and a reel that will not weigh you down while traveling or trekking up to the next run. The large arbor design speeds up line retrieve, and the reel converts between left-hand and right-hand retrieve. A cloth reel bag is included to keep it protected.
Rigged with RIO Line
Every pre-spooled Crosswater IV comes loaded with RIO Mainstream weight-forward floating fly line and dacron backing. RIO Mainstream is built to meet the needs of the average and newer fly fisher, with a slightly heavier, shorter head that optimizes rod performance for easier casting and cutting through wind. The line weight is matched to the reel size, so your setup is balanced and ready to fish the moment it arrives.
Available Sizes
The Crosswater IV comes in the two most popular sizes in fly fishing. The 4/5/6 freshwater size is perfect for trout, small bass, and panfish, and ships with 5 weight RIO Mainstream line. The 7/8/9 all water size is best for sport fish like salmon, large bass, stripers, and redfish, and ships with 8 weight RIO Mainstream line.
