Everything you need to fly fish, rigged and ready, built around the Classic Trout, the smoothest-casting rod Redington makes for beginners and traditionalists alike. This is Redington's new premium kit (2026), and unlike most starter outfits it carries a full lifetime warranty, and the reel is a fully machined click-and-pawl, not a plastic placeholder.

We stock both sizes.

What's in the kit

  • Redington Classic Trout rod: moderate action, 4-piece
  • Fully machined Classic Trout click-and-pawl reel
  • RIO Gold XP fly line: a genuinely good line, not kit filler
  • Dacron backing and RIO tapered leader, rigged loop-to-loop
  • Cordura carrying case for the whole outfit

Sizes

Model Line Length Best for
376-4 3 wt 7' 6" Creeks and small water
590-4 5 wt 9' 0" The all-around trout outfit

Current pricing is on the selector above.

Which size? If this is a first fly rod for Colorado, take the 9' 5 weight. It does everything. The 3 weight is the small-stream specialist or the second rod you will want by July.

Kit or à la carte? This is the kit for someone who wants quality that lasts: lifetime warranty on the whole package. If budget is the priority, the Redington Original Kit (also on our site) gets you on the water for less.

Warranty: Redington original-owner lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, the entire kit.

Buy it here and we will check the rigging and show you the knots before it leaves the shop. Ed's Fly Shop, 432 E Main St, downtown Montrose, Colorado.
