There are times when less is more. The Orvis Mirage LT is everything its big brother the Mirage is, redesigned to balance perfectly with lighter rods while still delivering the legendary Mirage engineering and performance anglers count on.

The heart of the reel is a lighter version of the sealed, maintenance-free carbon and stainless steel disc drag. It adjusts from zero to full drag in a single knob rotation, and with zero startup inertia and precise low-end control, it eliminates line shock and protects light tippets with a silky-smooth drag, while still offering far more stopping power than you will ever need for trout, bass, pike, musky, or carp.

At 30% lighter and 30% narrower than the Mirage, the LT is machined from the same strong, lightweight 6061 T6 aluminum barstock, with a titanium shaft that cuts weight while adding durable power transmission. The details are all here: an ergonomically designed machined aluminum handle, a quick-release spool that converts easily from left- to right-hand retrieve, Type II anodizing, a fully radiused reel foot that prevents kinked leaders, and a low-profile counterweight that will not catch fingers or fly lines. The Mirage LT is made in New Hampshire by the same skilled American craftsmen who build the Mirage.
