The Claymore is Redington's fast-action two-hander family — trout spey, switch, and full spey lengths with premium cork, polymer pinch-grip sections on both handles for line control, and a down-locking reel seat that balances the rod where a two-hander should balance.

Heads up: Redington retired most of the Claymore line in August 2026 as their new spey series launched. We have the three most popular models in stock — when the larger sizes sell through, they are gone. Grain windows below are Redington's published recommendations.

Picking one

  • Swinging for trout: the 3113-4 or 4116-4 — both in stock, both superb on the Gunnison in the shoulder seasons.
  • One rod for trout and Great Lakes steelhead: the 6116-4 switch.
  • Steelhead and salmon: the spey lengths, while they last.

Key features

  • Fast action with premium-grade cork handles
  • Polymer pinch-grip sections top and bottom for line control
  • Anodized aluminum down-locking reel seat for two-handed balance
  • Epoxy-coated section tips prevent sticking
  • Protective Cordura rod tube with dividers included

Lines: call us and we will match a head, running line, and tips to the grain window — that pairing is most of what makes a two-hander cast well.

Warranty: Redington original-owner lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
