LP stands for Light Presentation, and G. Loomis means it. These are the technical dry-fly rods in the NRX+ family — actions that are sweet, smooth, and stable, with enough reserve power to deliver an extra pinch of authority when conditions require it. They describe it as an exacting tool for anglers who demand precision, adaptability, and control in ultra-technical dry-fly scenarios.

Components

  • NRX+ blank in a presentation taper
  • Titanium SiC stripping guides with single-foot recoil snakes
  • AAA-grade cork — half-wells or cigar grip depending on model
  • Custom aluminum reel seat with amboyna hardwood insert — the visual signature of the LP series
  • Hook keeper; aluminum rod tube and cloth bag included
  • Handcrafted in Woodland, Washington

LP or standard NRX+? Straightforward: the standard NRX+ Freshwater is fast, built for line speed and wind. The LP is built for the last ten feet of the cast — laying a size 20 dry on flat water without a sound and protecting 6X when a good fish takes. If your best days involve rising trout and long leaders, the LP. If they involve streamers and weather, the standard. We stock both.

Also worth casting: the IMX-Pro Creek is a 7'9" light presentation rod in 3 and 4 weight at a friendlier price, if the water you fish is genuinely small.

Warranty: limited lifetime to the original owner, proof of purchase required, non-transferable. Accidental breakage runs through the Xpeditor replacement program for a set fee — G. Loomis's site is offline for rebuilding, so call us for current terms.
