The NRX+ Saltwater is G. Loomis's American-built flats and blue-water rod — an extra-fast action on the NRX+ platform, with titanium SiC guides and AAA cork. Handcrafted in Woodland, Washington.

Full lineup — six models, all 9'0", all 4-piece

Line Best for
7 wt Bonefish, redfish
8 wt The classic flats rod
9 wt Permit, big reds, small tarpon
10 wt Tarpon, stripers
11 wt Migratory tarpon
12 wt Blue water, GT

Extra-fast saltwater action throughout. Current pricing is on the selector above.

Components

  • NRX+ blank with Dynamic Recovery Technology, extra-fast salt taper
  • Titanium SiC stripping guides with recoil snake guides — recoil guides spring back rather than taking a set, which matters when a rod lives in a boat
  • Full-wells AAA-grade cork; custom aluminum reel seat with fighting butt
  • Aluminum rod tube and cloth bag included
  • Handcrafted in Woodland, Washington

Also in the NRX+ salt family, and worth understanding before you choose:

  • NRX+ T2S — an 8'10" two-piece tournament configuration with a grip ferrule, built to give one-piece performance in a package that travels. Matte black finish to cut glare at the boat. 8 through 12 weight.
  • NRX+ Swim Fly — 8'8" in 7 and 8 weight, designed with Mike Schultz specifically for articulated streamers rather than repurposed from a salt rod.

Both are stocked here.

Stepping up: the Asquith Saltwater is the flagship — blanks rolled in Shimano's Spiral X facility in Kumamoto, Japan, finished in Woodland, with Flor-grade cork and titanium throughout.

Planning a trip? Call 970-964-9991 and we will match the weight to the fish and the wind, line it properly, and check your backing before you fly. Rinse everything in fresh water at the end of every day.

Warranty: limited lifetime to the original owner, proof of purchase required, non-transferable. Accidental breakage goes through Xpeditor for a set fee — G. Loomis's site is offline for rebuilding, so call us for current terms.
