Which size? If this is a first fly rod for Colorado, take the 9' 5 weight — it does everything. The 3 weight is the small-stream specialist or the second rod you will want by July.
Kit or à la carte? This is the kit for someone who wants quality that lasts — lifetime warranty on the whole package. If budget is the priority, the Redington Original Kit (also on our site) gets you on the water for less.
