Hand-painted by Abel's in-house artists as part of the Abstract Series, its solid frame carries a one-of-a-kind swirl of rainbow-trout pinks, greens, and silver, set off by a dark ebony handle. At 4/5 it's tuned for dry-fly and small-water fishing where a lighter setup shines.
The artwork is unique to each reel, but the hardware is consistently excellent. The SDF earned best new freshwater reel of 2018 from Fly Fisherman Magazine and runs Abel's sealed drag, giving you inertia-free startup to protect fine tippet and a wide, smooth adjustment range on a light rod.
