The RIO Ambassador Series Coastal Crabber was designed with RIO Ambassador Joe Webster, a striped bass obsessive who has fished more than a thousand consecutive days on New England beaches. The result is a custom taper with an intermediate/Sink 5/Sink 7 multi-density head that gets a crab pattern down fast and keeps it anchored to the sand through a slow, natural retrieve.
A low-stretch core telegraphs subtle pickups and drives hooks home at distance, while a deliberately harder coating formulation shrugs off the sand, shell, and rock that eat ordinary lines alive. At 110 ft overall, there is plenty of running line for long beach casts and strong fish.
