The Centric is Scott's fast-action flagship, and it is built about two miles from our front door. Fast rods usually trade away feel to get line speed. This one does not — the tip flexes easily and the blank transmits everything back to your hand, so you know where the fly is at fifteen feet and at eighty.
We stock the entire Centric lineup, all eleven models. If you want to cast two or three against each other before you commit, come do it. That is the whole point of buying a premium rod from a shop instead of a website.

Picking one
- One rod for everything trout? The 905/4. It is not a nymph rod that tolerates dries, or a dry rod you have to muscle through a nymph day. It genuinely does both, and it roll casts and mends without complaint.
- Small water and technical dries? The 854/4 or 904/4. The 8'6" is the better close-range tool; the 9-foot gives you more reach for pinpoint work with long leaders.
- Streamers and heavy rigs? The 906/4 or 907/4. Both pick up long line without a fight. Take the fighting butt version of the 6 if you expect to be into bigger fish.
- Stillwater? The 1005/4 is the one we reach for. Power for distance and sink tips, but still enough feel to register a soft take.
- Nymphing with reach? The 1004/4. Long, light, and it mends like nothing else in the series.
