Simms calls the Freestone the ultimate wader for your almighty dollar — a determined daily driver, and that is a fair description. It is the wader most people should buy: 4-layer Toray QuadraLam top to bottom, no fabric step-down, built for demanding everyday use.

Most value waders save money by thinning out the upper. The Freestone does not — it runs the same 4-layer fabric everywhere, which is why it holds up. Weight: 42.0 oz (1,191 g) in Medium, noticeably lighter than the GORE-TEX models.

Features

  • 4-layer Toray QuadraLam, same fabric upper and lower
  • Stretch elastic suspenders with Simms custom opposing buckles
  • Top-access stretch-woven chest pocket, fleece handwarmers, integrated fly patch loop, built-in Tippet Tender pocket
  • Dual rear belt loops; 38mm stretch elastic belt included
  • Anatomically engineered neoprene stockingfeet

Current pricing is on the selector above.

Want a front zip? The Freestone Z is the same wader with a TIZIP waterproof front zipper and dual side-access chest pockets. We stock it, and if you fish cold mornings or layer heavily it is worth the step up.

Want GORE-TEX? The G3 Guide moves you to GORE-TEX with a 4-layer GORE-TEX Pro lower, and it is built in Bozeman rather than overseas. That is the real jump in the Simms line — the Freestone is Toray QuadraLam, which is a good fabric but not GORE-TEX, and Simms publishes no country of origin for it.

Sizing — how Simms does it

  • The bootie size is part of the wader size — “M 9-11” is a medium with a 9–11 bootie
  • King means about two extra inches of girth, not extra length
  • Inseam is a separate choice: Short, Regular, or Long

Size from your largest girth — chest, waist, or hips — then inseam, then bootie.

Five minutes in the shop beats a return label. Call 970-964-9991 or come by and we will measure you properly and order in whatever size you need.

Warranty: 60 days no questions asked on leaks, free repairs through year one, then a flat fee covering evaluation, repair, testing, and return shipping. About three weeks turnaround. Bring them in and we will handle it.
