The Flyweight is Simms's travel and hike-in wader — it packs into its own chest pocket and converts from chest-high to waist-high through the suspender design. Built for multi-sport days, backpacking, and anyone who would rather carry waders than wear them on the walk in.
This is not a rung on the Simms tier ladder. It is a specialist — sized and built for a specific job, and very good at it.
Construction: 2.5-layer Toray upper over a 4-layer Toray QuadraLam lower. That light upper is what makes it packable and it is the only wader in the line built that way. Weight: 38.0 oz (1,077 g) in Medium.
Features
- Packs into its own chest pocket
- Chest-high to waist-high conversion, with a cinch drawcord to customize the upper hem either way
- Low-volume neoprene feet — works with wading boots or lightweight wet-wading shoes
- Gravel guards in micro-ripstop and a nylon/spandex blend

Two things to know before you buy
- No wading belt or belt loops. Simms publishes neither on this model. If you want a belt, plan on a separate one — and for safety in moving water you should want one.
- No inseam options. Every other Simms wader offers Short, Regular, and Long; the Flyweight does not. Fit matters more here as a result.
If this is your only wader, buy the Freestone instead — 4-layer fabric throughout, real pockets, a belt, and inseam choices. The Flyweight earns its place as the second pair that lives in a pack or a duffel. We stock both.
Sizing: Simms builds the bootie size into the wader size — “M 9-11” is a medium with a 9–11 bootie — and King means about two extra inches of girth rather than extra length. Since this model has no inseam options, come try a pair on. Call 970-964-9991 or stop by the shop.
Warranty: 60 days no questions asked on leaks, free repairs through the first year, then a flat fee covering evaluation, repair, testing, and return shipping. Bring them to us and we will get it started.
