The boot built to go with the Grundens Bedrock wader — designed as a system rather than assembled from whatever was on the shelf. Grundens's commercial-marine background shows up here as hardware that does not corrode and construction that does not come apart.

Features

  • Durable synthetic upper with reinforced toe and heel
  • Supportive midsole and ankle collar for uneven bottoms
  • Corrosion-resistant lacing hardware
  • Drains and dries quickly
  • Studdable for extra traction

Sizing — read before ordering

Wading boots go on over your wader booties, so they run bigger than street shoes — generally about a full size up, with half sizes rounding up. Boots that are too tight compress the neoprene and give you cold feet within an hour; too loose and you roll an ankle on a slick rock.

Bring your waders and try boots on over them. Ten minutes in the shop, and it is the difference between boots you forget you are wearing and boots you resent all season. Call 970-964-9991 and we will pull sizes before you arrive.

On soles in Colorado: rubber is the responsible default. Felt grips slick rock better but moves whirling disease spores, didymo, and mud between drainages far more readily. Studs recover most of the grip. Whatever you fish, clean and dry your boots between rivers — the Gunnison, the Uncompahgre, and the San Miguel are separate drainages and deserve to stay that way.
