The women's Swiftcurrent Expedition Zip Front — Patagonia's toughest all-season wader, in a pattern designed, built, and field-tested by their own team of women anglers. Same reinforced construction as the men's, plus the drop-seat system with a low-profile center-back buckle.
What sets the Expedition apart is the two-weight build: a light 5.6 oz, 50-denier upper over a 9.4 oz, 100-denier lower. Waders wear out from the waist down — knees on gravel, shins in the brush — so that is where the heavy fabric goes, without turning the whole thing into a suit of armor.

Expedition or Traverse? The women's Traverse is the lighter everyday wader — same shell weight throughout, same drop-seat, no reinforced lower and no kneepads. Choose the Expedition if you guide, fish through winter, or are simply hard on gear. We stock both and you can try them on side by side.
Honest note: not insulated. All-season means durable and breathable across a wide range; warmth comes from layers, and this cut leaves room for them.
The size code, decoded
- First letter — body: XS, S, M, L, X (XL), 2 (2XL)
- Second letter — length: X extra short, S short, R regular, L long
- Third letter — bootie: S (about 6–8), M (about 9–11), L (about 12–14)
LRM is a large body, regular length, medium bootie. The bootie letter is the one people get wrong, and it throws off your boot fit too.
