One honest difference worth knowing. Winston rates the 5-piece as medium-fast, where the standard 4-piece Air 2 is fast. Extra ferrules change how a blank loads. Most people find the 5-piece a touch smoother and slightly less crisp at distance. That is not a flaw — plenty of anglers prefer it — but if you have cast a 4-piece Air 2 and loved exactly how it felt, know that this is not quite the same rod.
