Sizing — the part people get wrong
Wading boots go on over your wader booties, so they need to run bigger than your street shoes, generally about a full size, with half sizes rounding up. Too tight compresses the neoprene and you get cold feet within an hour; too loose and you roll an ankle on a slick rock.

On soles in Colorado: rubber is the responsible default here. Felt grips slick rock better but moves whirling disease spores, didymo, and mud between drainages far more readily. Clean and dry your boots between rivers whatever you fish.
