The Abel SDF Striper Edition brings a saltwater attitude to a freshwater reel. Its solid 6/7-weight frame wears Abel's striped-bass finish and a matching Striper drag knob, set against a no-nonsense black handle. The solid (non-ported) frame gives the artwork a continuous canvas and adds a little heft where you want it on a bigger rod.
At 6/7 this is the stout end of the SDF line, ready for streamers, big trout, smallmouth, and light striper or coastal duty. It carries the award-winning drag that earned best new freshwater reel of 2018 from Fly Fisherman Magazine, fully sealed against grit and salt spray, with plenty of stopping power for fish that pull hard.
