The frame and spool are anodized in Rangers colors, the drag knob is laser-engraved with the team logo, and the counterweight carries a baseball-lace pattern so the spool looks like a stitched ball. A bat-toned wooden handle keeps the ballpark theme running throughout.

A matching Rangers nipper comes with every reel. Bumping up to 7/8 opens the SDF to streamers, smallmouth, carp, and light saltwater work, where the full stopping power of Abel's sealed, saltwater-derived drag really earns its keep, up to about 10 pounds with virtually no start-up inertia.
