The original DXF was Douglas's mid-price workhorse for years and remains a good rod. It is simply no longer the current build.

Read this before buying
- Sections are not interchangeable with GEN2. Different generation, different blank. If you already own a first-gen DXF and want a matching spare, this is the page — not the GEN2 page.
- Warranty still applies. Douglas's limited lifetime coverage carries over, and their warranty page still lists the original DXF for whole-rod service. As with any discontinued series, section replacement depends on remaining parts.
- The GEN2 is the better buy at similar money unless you specifically want to match an existing rod. It is the current blank with current support.
