The Echo Micro Practice Rod (MPR) is a scaled-down casting trainer that Tim Rajeff engineered to mimic the mechanics of a full-size fly rod. Instead of line and a fly, it uses a balanced rope-and-yarn "line" so you can practice loop control in the backyard, the living room, or the office without hooking the drapes.
It is genuinely useful for grooving your stroke and genuinely fun to wave around, which is why so many casters keep one by the door. Optional accessories extend it further: a spey adapter converts it to a two-handed trainer, and a double-haul kit helps you dial in your hauls before you are standing in a river.
