The Echo Overcast started with a simple question from Flip Pallot: who would not want more line speed? Flip and Tim Rajeff spent more than a year testing in tough Florida saltwater to answer it, and the result is a saltwater rod built around a slightly longer 9 foot 3 inch lever that generates line speed without extra effort.
That added length helps you punch through wind, reach longer shots, and turn over heavy flies with control. Flip passed before the rod went into production, and the Overcast carries his design and his grip into every model from 6 through 10 weight.
