The JS2 sits in the middle of PEAK's Jurassic Series, built around the same Large Iron Retention System (LIRS) as the JS1 but sized for hook wire up to .134 inches. If you tie big freshwater predator patterns, pike and musky flies, or medium saltwater irons, this is the vise that holds them without slipping.
Rather than clamping a hook between two parallel faces and relying on friction, the LIRS drawbar captures and retains the hook positively. That matters when you are putting real tension on high tensile thread over a long shank.
