At the heart of the LTX is a dramatically upgraded drag system based on the engineered stacked-disc system found in the Evolution R. With over four times the drag strength of its predecessor, the LTX retains the smooth sound and feel that made the Evolution an icon while delivering the stopping power to handle not just trout but serious saltwater species like Redfish, Bonefish, and Snook. This is a reel equally at home on a western river as it is on the saltwater flats.

The large arbor spool features an innovative line channel that cleanly hides arbor knots when winding on backing — a small but brilliant detail that makes rigging cleaner and faster. Ross Reels' signature bell-shaped arbor design adds structural strength while helping to self-level fly line across the spool face during retrieval. The handle is machined from canvas phenolic rod — a Ross Reels innovation — reducing weight, adding durability, and increasing grip when your hands are wet.
